ABOUT JUSTINE GAIGNAULT
Justine Gaignault is a French textile designer specializing in weaving for interior design. She creates bespoke, handcrafted projects for designers, decorators, and architects in her Parisian studio. In 2022, she joined the prestigious support program of the Bureau du Design, de la Mode et des Métiers d'Art (Design, Fashion and Crafts Bureau) and created her first textile collection for interior design, showcasing two natural materials: linen and wool. The wool (Segard Masurel, Tourcoing and Filature Terrade, Felletin) and linen (Safilin, Béthune) used in her creations are entirely French. While wool shrinks during wet felting, linen remains stable, creating a tension between the two materials that gives the weavings a voluminous yet elastic quality, transforming their initial shape in unexpected ways. Each piece is made to order, minimizing material waste and perpetuating a commitment to responsible production. The pieces are designed on a handloom in Paris and produced in a Jacquard factory in Belgium. The felting and finishing are done by hand in Paris.

Mantas Ezcaray was founded in the 1930s by Cecilio Valgañón, who discovered mohair in Madrid and introduced it to the Ezcaray family workshop. Since then, three generations have carried on this unique artisanal expertise. The company manufactures high-end blankets using exclusively carefully selected natural fibers, such as South African mohair, Australian merino wool, and Mongolian cashmere. Quality, sustainability, and respect for the environment are at the heart of Ezcaray's approach, with particular attention paid to animal welfare and reducing its ecological footprint.
